Call (201) 781-8812 anytime, day or night. Our admissions team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will speak with a real person who understands what you are going through -- not a voicemail or automated system.
During this call, our team conducts an initial screening with qualifying questions to understand your situation and determine if Valley Spring is the right fit. We will ask about substance use history, mental health concerns, and current living situation.
After your initial call, our admissions department immediately begins verifying your insurance benefits and coverage levels. We work with 16 major insurance providers and handle all the paperwork so you do not have to.
At the same time, we confirm clinical appropriateness based on the information you shared. Our goal is to make sure Valley Spring can provide the specific level of care you need, whether that is Partial Care, IOP, Virtual, or our Mental Health program.
Our Clinical Director reviews your screening information along with any medical records from referring providers. The clinical team evaluates appropriateness for admission and determines which program track aligns best with your needs.
This step typically takes about one hour. Our team prioritizes quick turnaround because we know that when someone is ready to get help, timing matters.
Once clinically approved, our admissions coordinator calls you back to schedule your in-person intake appointment. We work around your schedule and can often accommodate same-day or next-day intake.
Some admissions can even be completed virtually for those with distance or transportation barriers. We can also help arrange transportation to the facility if needed.
You arrive at our Norwood facility and are personally greeted by a Program Coordinator -- Ron or Cameron. They will show you around, introduce you to staff, and walk you through everything you need to know.
Your intake includes a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment (about 1 hour with a therapist), orientation, consent forms, and level of care determination. By the end of your first visit, you will know your treatment plan and start date.

When you arrive at 830 Broadway in Norwood, NJ, you will find our discrete standalone building with private parking right out front. There is no large signage advertising a treatment center -- we prioritize your privacy from the moment you pull into the lot.
Walk in through the front entrance and you will be warmly welcomed. There is no sterile waiting room or clipboard-first approach. We want you to feel comfortable before anything clinical begins.
Your first human interaction at Valley Spring will be with Ron Lopez or Cameron Kennedy, our Program Coordinators. Their job is not to process you through a system -- it is to get to know you as a person.
Ron and Cameron will sit down with you, learn about what brought you here, answer any questions, and make sure you feel safe and respected. At Valley Spring, we believe the therapeutic relationship starts the moment you walk through the door, not when formal treatment begins.
After meeting your coordinator, you will receive a guided tour of the facility. You will see the group therapy rooms where small process groups of under 10 people meet, individual therapy rooms, and common areas.
During orientation, your coordinator explains the program structure, daily schedule, house rules, rights and responsibilities, and what to expect in the coming weeks. This is your chance to ask anything -- no question is too small.
This is the clinical core of your intake. You will spend approximately one hour with a licensed therapist or case manager who conducts a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment. This covers your biological health, psychological history, and social circumstances.
The assessment helps our treatment team understand the full picture of your life -- not just the substance use or mental health concern that brought you here. This information directly shapes your individualized treatment plan.
Based on your biopsychosocial assessment, our clinical team determines the most appropriate level of care for you. Valley Spring offers Partial Care (PHP), IOP 5-Day, IOP 3-Day, Virtual IOP, and our dedicated Mental Health program.
Treatment team meetings happen every Wednesday to ensure the best therapist-client match based on specializations, personality, and clinical needs. You will know your treatment plan, schedule, and start date before you leave your first visit.
