Partial Care Program (PHP)

Monday – Saturday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM • Norwood, NJ

Our Partial Care Program is the most intensive level of outpatient treatment at Valley Spring. For individuals stepping down from inpatient care or those who need structured daily support, this program provides a full therapeutic environment without overnight stays. Clients attend six days a week and engage in a comprehensive blend of individual counseling, group therapy, and evidence-based clinical interventions.

What makes this program distinct is the integration of wellness activities alongside clinical work. Beyond traditional therapy sessions, clients participate in mindfulness practices, nutritional guidance, and stress-management workshops — building the practical skills that sustain long-term recovery. Our clinical team conducts ongoing assessments to ensure each person’s care plan evolves with their progress.

The structured environment gives clients a sense of rhythm and routine — two things that addiction disrupts profoundly. Most clients spend four to six weeks in the PHP track before transitioning to our IOP programs, though the timeline is always personalized to the individual.

In Their Own Words

I came into Valley Spring thinking I was beyond help. Within two weeks, I had a care plan, a counselor who actually listened, and for the first time in years — hope. The evening IOP let me keep working while getting the treatment I desperately needed.

Our Partial Care Program (PHP) is our most intensive outpatient level — six days a week, 9 AM to 3 PM. IOP (Intensive Outpatient) meets three or five evenings a week from 6–9 PM. PHP is ideal for those needing structured daily support, while IOP allows you to maintain work and family obligations during the day.
Treatment duration varies by individual. PHP clients typically spend 4–6 weeks before transitioning to IOP. IOP programs generally run 8–12 weeks. Our clinical team continuously assesses progress and adjusts the timeline to fit your recovery needs. The Alumni Program provides ongoing support indefinitely.
Yes. Integrated dual-diagnosis treatment is a core part of our approach. Many clients struggling with substance use also face anxiety, depression, PTSD, or other mental health challenges. Our clinicians are trained to address both simultaneously, and we offer a dedicated Mental Health Program for those whose primary concern is a mental health condition.
We accept 17 major insurance providers including Horizon Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Anthem, Empire, Humana, Medicaid, Medicare, and more. Our admissions team will verify your benefits before your first appointment so you know exactly what’s covered.
Most clients can begin treatment within 24–48 hours of their initial call. We prioritize fast intake because we understand that the decision to seek help is often time-sensitive. Call us at (201) 781-8812 and we’ll guide you through the process step by step.
Our Virtual IOP delivers the same clinical rigor as our in-person programs through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth technology. Research consistently shows that virtual intensive outpatient programs produce comparable outcomes to in-person care, and for many clients, the added flexibility actually improves engagement and completion rates.
