Valley Spring's Partial Care Program delivers six hours of structured daily treatment in a supportive clinical environment — the most intensive outpatient level for individuals stepping down from inpatient care or those who need daily therapeutic structure.
"The PHP program at Valley Spring gave me a full daily structure that I desperately needed after detox. The clinicians truly care — every session felt personal, not generic."
"I was terrified to start treatment. Valley Spring made me feel safe from day one. The small group sizes meant I actually got heard, and the wellness activities helped me find peace."
"The combination of real clinical therapy and practical life skills was exactly what I needed. Stepping down from PHP to IOP felt natural because the team prepared me for each transition."
Valley Spring's Partial Care Program is designed for individuals transitioning from inpatient treatment or those who require structured daily clinical support without overnight stays.
The Partial Care Program (PHP) represents Stage 1 — Restore — of our continuum of care. Clients attend six days a week, Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, engaging in a comprehensive blend of process groups, psychoeducation, wellness activities, and individual therapy.
What distinguishes this program is the clinical depth of each day. Mornings begin with process groups of fewer than ten people, where participants work through real-time emotional and behavioral challenges with direct clinician guidance. Midday shifts to psychoeducation — structured learning about the neuroscience of addiction, relapse triggers, and coping frameworks.
After a catered lunch, afternoons focus on health and wellness across five pillars: physical, emotional, nutritional, social, and spiritual. Each day closes with an elective chosen by the client — art therapy, journaling, meditation, or movement-based activities. The structure gives clients rhythm and routine, two things that substance use profoundly disrupts.
Each day follows a carefully designed therapeutic arc — building from emotional processing through education into practical wellness skills.
Our clinicians are trained in multiple evidence-based therapeutic approaches, tailoring treatment to each individual's needs, trauma history, and recovery goals.
Identifying and restructuring negative thought patterns that fuel addictive behaviors and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Building distress tolerance, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness skills for sustained recovery.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing for clients with trauma histories — processing past events that contribute to substance use.
Strengthening internal motivation for change through collaborative, non-confrontational therapeutic conversations.
Art, music, movement, and adventure-based activities that access emotions and experiences beyond what talk therapy reaches.
Every clinical interaction recognizes the prevalence and impact of trauma — creating safety, trust, and empowerment at every step.
When clinically appropriate, our medical team integrates FDA-approved medications to reduce cravings, manage withdrawal, and support long-term sobriety — always alongside therapy, never as a standalone solution.
From clinical rigor to compassionate community, here is what sets our Partial Care Program apart from every other option in the region.
Smaller groups mean more individual attention, faster rapport, and better clinical outcomes than industry averages.

Within 72 hours of admission, your clinical team completes a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment and develops an individualized treatment plan. Case management is assigned immediately. The focus is medical stabilization, establishing therapeutic rapport, and creating safety.
The core of the program. Daily process groups, psychoeducation, and individual therapy sessions address the root causes of addiction — trauma, co-occurring disorders, relationship patterns, and cognitive distortions. MAT is initiated or adjusted as clinically indicated.
As stabilization deepens, the focus shifts to practical life skills: stress management, healthy communication, relapse prevention planning, and rebuilding routines. Wellness activities and client electives play a larger role. The clinical team begins step-down planning.
Clients transition to IOP (5-day or 3-day) with the same clinical team — no new intake, no waiting period. The Wednesday team meeting ensures continuity. Your recovery plan, support network, and coping toolkit are solidified before you step down.
